Steps To Turn On A Wireless Connection On Acer Laptop

Wireless connectivity allows you to connect multiple computers or laptops online without using the cables or cords. To connect multiple laptops, you need a router/modem and an Internet Service Provider. Now, most of the Acer devices already have inbuilt wireless, so no additional hardware is required for connection. Connecting your devices to a wireless connection is not a complicated process but you still need proper guidance so that you connect without any issues. In this article, Acer laptop support has mentioned some steps for you to complete the process without any trouble.

1. Turn on your device. Move the switch located on the front of the laptop to the right-hand side and then release it. The switch will go back to its original position.

2. Make sure that the networking icon has appeared on the screen.

3. Now, in the bottom right corner of the screen, right-click on the icon which looks like a small stair-step triangle in Windows 7 and looks like a tiny monitor in Vista operating system.

4. Click 'View available wireless networks' or 'Open network and sharing center' depending upon the version of your operating system.

5. Now, wait until the adapter finds the Wi-Fi network. Select the network and click 'Connect'.

6. Enter the password which you created while setting up the router. If you do not know or forget the password, login into the gateway page mentioned in the user's guide. Locate the 'Wireless security' settings page to see that the security is enabled. If it is enabled, type in a new key and enter the same number for the Wi-Fi network. If you are not able to search any network on your laptop, you can take the help from Acer tech support number to resolve the issues.
